Meet Hawkins! This awesome German Shepherd is ~3 years old and is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Hawkins is the coolest dog! He is friendly, intelligent, and loves to be around people. He is a classic dog—he loves tennis balls, treats, and attention! He is also silly and playful, and truly a joy to be around.

To thrive, Hawkins will need a home that provides him with mental and physical stimulation and exercise as he is a high energy working breed. Researching German Shepherds and being aware of their qualities is a must. A confident and kind owner who knows how to set boundaries, a routine, and works on obedience training would help him be able to be the best dog he can be. He is strong on a leash – especially when he knows it’s time to eat. He is a very nice dog both in looks and personality, and is happy to be around his people.

Hawkins has met other dogs in the past, but if you have a dog in the home, we do require a dog introduction to be done here at the shelter. We do not know how he does with cats or other animals. There is a seven-day foster period with each adoption to ensure the best fit for everyone in the home.

Want to meet Hawkins or any of our other adoptable pets? Feel free to stop by anytime we’re open! Our open hours are 2pm-6pm Monday-Saturday. Dog kennels close at 5pm and adoptions end at 5:30pm.
