Coco was born just two days after her mother was rescued from a high-risk shelter’s euthanasia list. Growing up in a foster environment, she developed a naturally social and outgoing temperament. While she has experienced two previous adoptions, her returns were due to a high prey drive toward farm animals (chickens) and developing separation anxiety when left entirely alone to guard a large property.
Daily Life In her current foster home, Coco is a well-mannered and easygoing companion. She is fully house-trained and shows no food aggression or resource guarding. When it’s time for a walk, she handles the leash beautifully without pulling, making her a pleasant partner for neighborhood strolls. While she does experience some motion sickness during car rides, she settles down quickly once back on solid ground. She is highly social and actively seeks out the company of other dogs and cats, maintaining a gentle and friendly boundary with her feline housemates.
Personality & Emotional Tone Coco is a dog who thrives on presence. She is deeply affectionate with both adults and children, offering an enthusiastic welcome to anyone she meets. She isn't a "solitary" dog; she finds her confidence and calm through being part of the family "pack." When she has a human or a canine sibling nearby, her anxiety disappears, and she becomes a steady, happy companion.
Ideal Home Coco needs a home that understands her need for companionship. She would do best in a household where someone is home frequently or where there is another playful dog to keep her company. Because of her history, a home without chickens or small farm animals is required. She is a ready-made family dog for those looking for a social, house-trained, and loving addition to their daily routine.
Coco is a resilient girl who simply wants to belong. She offers a steady, joyful presence to a home that won't leave her to "work" alone.
