Meet Haven.

Haven is a young German Shepherd mix, under two years old, who found himself scared, very underweight , neglected and alone before being picked up as a stray and brought to the Coastal Animal Pound. No one came to claim him so he was transferred into our care. Despite being neglected and let down by people, Haven still loves with his whole heart.

Now safe in foster care in Cobble Hill, BC, Haven is finally learning what it means to feel secure. He absolutely adores his foster mom and dad and always wants to be nearby, soaking up every bit of love and comfort he can. After surviving on his own, this sweet boy has become a total snuggle bug who just wants to be close to his people.

Haven is smart, housetrained, listens well, and is wonderful with both dogs and cats. We think he would do best in a quieter home without young children, as he can still be timid with new things. Another confident dog in the home would really help him continue building confidence.

He’s now up 5 healthy pounds and weighs about 45 lbs — and honestly, anyone would be lucky to have him. Haven is the kind of dog that makes you wonder how anyone could ever throw him away.
