Franky - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Kiowa, Oklahoma

FRANKY

German Shepherd Dog
🇺🇸
Kiowa, Oklahoma
June 12th
female, large, baby

DESCRIPTION

Some dogs come in black. Some dogs come in white. Some dogs come in brown. And then there's Franky. Franky looks like Mother Nature accidentally mixed all the paint colors together, stepped back, and said, "You know what? That's actually perfect." Seriously. Her coat is one of those colors that makes people stop mid-sentence and ask, "Wait... what color is she?" Is she Blue. Is she Gray. Tan. A little silver perhaps? A little magic. Depending on the lighting, Franky somehow manages to be several colors at once, and honestly we're pretty sure she knows exactly how gorgeous she is. Fortunately, all that beauty isn't hiding a diva. Franky is as sweet as they come. She's the kind of girl who would rather make friends than make trouble, and she's always happy to soak up affection from her favorite humans. While her coat may be rare, her loving personality is the kind of timeless classic that never goes out of style. So if you've ever wanted a dog that looks like she was custom-designed by an artist and comes with a heart of gold to match, Franky may just be your girl.

Franky is a 3-month-old, 12-pound female possible German Shepherd mix who came to rescue after being abandoned. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan refused to let her story end there, took her in, and reached out to us for help finding her the forever family she deserves.

When Franky first arrived, she treated the resident dogs the way most people treat unsolicited phone calls. Suspiciously. Franky's original life plan appeared to involve quietly evaluating everyone from a safe distance while gathering evidence. She wasn't interested in joining any clubs, signing any friendship contracts, or participating in group activities. Then......She discovered that having dog siblings is actually kind of awesome. Now she's fully embraced the sibling lifestyle and loves playing with the other dogs. She's gone from "I don't know about these weird strangers" to "These weird strangers are my weird strangers." When it comes to meeting new people, Franky approaches strangers the same way a person approaches a sketchy email claiming they've won a free cruise..with caution. If you're expecting a puppy to launch herself into your arms after 3.2 seconds and immediately declare you her soulmate, Franky would like to respectfully decline. However, once she realizes you're safe, her sweet and loveable personality starts to shine through. Cats? Franky has not been tested with cats, so unfortunately we cannot tell you whether she dreams of becoming their best friend, ignores them entirely, or plans to submit a strongly worded complaint about their existence. Kids? Franky has not spent time around children in foster care. However, considering she is a puppy, there's a decent chance she'd initially view small humans the same way she views everything else in life: "What is that? Why is it moving? Is it safe? So, any kiddos in the home should be dog savvy and understand that she may need a little time before jumping in for a lifetime of unlimited cuddles and run all around the house sessions together.

Energy level-wise, Franky is an 8 out of 10. Franky loves to run, play, splash in water, collect toys, and generally conduct important puppy business throughout the day. She has plenty of energy for adventures, games, and zoomies, but she also has a sweet, thoughtful side that enjoys checking in with her people. At 12 pounds, Franky isn't exactly hopping into a lifted truck under her own power. Once inside though, she typically rides in the front seat and takes her responsibilities as Passenger Princess very seriously. Someone has to supervise the driving, after all. Adventure Dog or Homebody? Franky is still young enough that she's pretty flexible. Her ideal lifestyle is probably less about what you're doing and more about who she's doing it with. Franky is a huge supporter of toys. She's also a fan of water. Personality wise, Franky is still settling into the realization that she's safe now. She's naturally a little shy and cautious, but every day her personality peeks out a little more. And what we're discovering is pretty adorable. She loves toys. She loves running. She loves playing. She loves doing casual drive-by greetings where she trots over to say hello before returning to her regularly scheduled puppy activities. Most importantly, she has created what can only be described as her own tiny goblin cave. Using a baby gate and her bed, Franky has established a personal headquarters where she stores her most prized possessions. If something goes missing, there is a reasonable chance Franky has quietly added it to her growing museum of stolen treasures. In short, Franky is a sweet little girl who is still finding her confidence, but underneath that shy exterior is a playful, goofy, toy-hoarding, water-loving puppy who is slowly discovering that life is actually pretty wonderful.

If you'd like to apply for the position of Franky's Forever Human, you'll need to fill out an adoption application. Once submitted, we'll send your application to Franky's foster family for review because they know her best and will ultimately help choose the home that fits her needs. If selected, adopters will need to pick Franky up in Norman, Oklahoma. We know. It's a road trip. We also know that if a gorgeous little gremlin with a custom-painted coat, a heart of gold, and a thriving stolen-property operation is worth adding to your family, a drive to Norman is probably not the biggest hurdle you'll face.
