Meet Koda -- a sweet, happy-go-lucky husky x shepherd who is ready to be your next adventure partners.

Koda loves the outdoors and would make the perfect hiking companion. Whether it's a walk in the park or a weekend trail, Koda is happiest exploring the world by your side. But she is not all adventure--she is just as big on affection. Koda loves being loved on and will happily soak up pets and attention after a day of fun. And true to her husky roots, she has a special talent for "singing," making her as entertaining as she is loving.

Koda is finished with her heartworm treatments, just waiting to be retested in Dec 2026, but is available to be foster-to-adopted until then. Koda has done well with a young toddler and a house full of dogs. She can be with cats, but only with supervision. She is potty trained, decent in a crate, and knows basic commands.

Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.

Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.
Fees:
Dogs over 6 months old: $100
Puppies under 6 months: $200.
Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).

NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption.
If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
