Stitch is an owner surrender, through no fault of his own. Unfortunately, his family no longer had enough time for him. Stitch is looking for a long-term (permanent!) committed relationship with someone who is serious about putting in the work to make your love last forever! He is a 3-year-old French Bulldog, and he may be high maintenance (IYKYK), but he wants to make sure you know, he's worth it. He enjoys long walks, cuddling on the couch, and sharing in whatever adventure comes your way - together!
Stitch will arrive at NCCR on 4/30/26 and go directly to a foster home! He is searching for a new home & family to call his own. He is a French Bulldog, approximately 3 years old. Stitch is adorably mischievous and charming, and is ready to spend the rest of his life with you! He is house trained and crate trained, knows basic commands, and gets along great with kids. He may be able to share a home with other dogs, too, but has never met cats.
Frenchies are adorable and charming, but all those wrinkles and smooshed faces require extra care - he will be happy to join in on your nightly skin care routine with one of his own! And bust out the pet ramps, because Frenchies can have more delicate spinal discs that need some protecting, so they shouldn't jump off furniture or stairs. They also need special consideration in warm weather, and tend to overheat easily, so a home with A/C would be preferred for his comfort & safety. It may be a little extra effort, but he is sure to repay you with a lifetime of love, laughs, and licks!
You can read more about Stitch and apply to adopt online at www.caninerescue.org . He's sure to be a real hot ticket, so don't delay! Have a question? Email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. Stitch is not at the shelter yet, but you can visit all the available resident dogs Monday - Saturday 1-3 p.m. at 7540 N. Gale street in Westfield, no appointment necessary.
*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit.
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.
We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
