DESCRIPTION

Socialization: Harry is shy at first when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly. He has not been around young children but I do not believe it would be an issue. He has lived with three other dogs and has never had any issues. He is interested in the cats that live in our home, but he has not been aggressive towards them.

Training: Harry can sit, for short periods of time, but is too excited to stay for very long. He is pretty well house broken, though he may still lift his leg every so often. Harry walks well on a leash and enjoys his time outside. Harry will very rarely play with toys. He did chew up one crate mat, but hasn't touched the new one. He only barks if he is left behind when the other dogs are taken outside.

Crate trained: Harry spent every night in a crate both for his protection and the protection of all the other animals in the house. The rest of the day he would be out in the house. He would spend around 8-9 hours at night in the crate without complaint.

Leash trained: Harry walks well on a leash. He will stop and look at the birds and bunnies, but will not pull and try to take off after them. He has walked as part of a group and also solo, both with no issue.

Activity level/requirements: Harry does well with 4 leash walks a day. He is medium energy, but he is calm in the house. He has fallen into the routine of his couch potato sisters

Fence requirements: There is no requirement of a fenced yard. I am sure he would be happy running around a fenced in yard, but him getting out via leash walks are adequate.

Personality: Harry is cuddly and playful. He is very happy with a tail that doesn't stop wagging. He enjoys being petted and is friendly with everyone he meets

Health history: UTD on vaccinations, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, & on monthly heartworm preventative. Harry has allergies that need ongoing care. He is on Apoquel, hypoallergenic food that is $150 per bag, and medicated soap and mousse. He is seeing a dermatologist as well as the regular vet. This treatment regimen has yielded great results and his skin has healed and his hair has grown back.

Foster comments: Harry is the perfect companion. He just needs someone willing to keep up with his medical care. He would be good as a solo dog, or as part of a pack. I would just ask that his days of being outside are over. He is now officially an inside dog, who is getting use to the couch life.

Foster Location: Fleetwood, PA

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI). Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
