DESCRIPTION

Socialization: Buddy loves meeting people of all ages. He is friendly and very gentle, although he does do his little hops and "talks" when he gets very excited! Some of Buddy's special talents:) He has been with dogs his size, and with our Chihuahua littles and he is perfectly fine with all. He also met the cat at our Vet and wasn't very interested in her.

Training: Buddy is totally housetrained, has never had an accident since he arrived, and will let you know when he has to go outside. He does do a little "dance" and vocalizes to get your attention. When he is outside in our fenced in backyard, he will bark at the door to let you know he wants to come back in. He has never chewed anything, or been anything but well behaved inside and out. He loves being outdoors soaking up the sun in the yard. He is great company when outdoors doing yardwork, and will be right by your side if you sit down to take a break.

Crate trained: Buddy has access to a large crate with a soft bed inside, and we leave it open all the time for him. Every once in a while he will be in it taking a nap, but he does not need to be crated at all. Buddy is trustworthy in the home for short or longer periods of time.

Leash trained: Buddy walks well on the leash, likes to take walks, but loves being in the yard cruising around at his own pace, searching for chipmunks! He is not one to lunge if he sees a squirrel, and if he did, he will listen immediately if you tell him no. This precious boy just truly aims to please.

Activity level/requirements: Buddy is low key, he would love to hang out in a fenced in yard most of the day. If he gets hot, he will come in and find a spot to chill out in. He will search around the perimeter of the yard but will settle down when he knows he's had enough. He is very much a people guy and just loves your company, although he also is perfectly fine when we are not around.

Fence requirements: We have a 4' fence and Buddy has never attempted to stand up on it, or try to get out of it. He is very content where he is and seems to have no interest in trying to get away at all. A fenced in yard truly would be the best for Buddy, he just loves to soak up the sun, and have free range of the yard.

Personality: Buddy is absolutely perfect senior boy. He just loves your company, will come for snuggles and kisses, and be laying by your side whenever he can be. He has not attempted to jump up on a couch or bed, he is perfectly content laying on the rug/floor. He is a combination of independent when he wants to be, or will follow you around when he feels like it. He is an amazing boy, a love and an absolute pleasure to have with us. Buddy would make a great companion for any person/family. He is not one to take on hikes, or long walks, he is one to chill outside with you or be by your side. He really is the best!

Health history: He is up to date on all vaccinations, is neutered & on monthly heartworm preventatives. Buddy came to me on Carprofen for his arthritis. He is doing amazingly well and seems to have no issues doing our 6 stairs or going up and down our backyard.

Foster comments: If you want a loving companion, who will love you to bits, then Buddy is that guy. He truly is a love, gentle, sweet, listens well, housetrained, enjoys each day with you to the fullest. He may be an older boy, but he has such a calm dimeanor and way about him. Buddy would honestly be a great addition to any family. Such an easy boy:)

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home.
