Meet Rocko
Rocko is a 5-year-old red, cropped and docked male Doberman Pinscher located in Maryland who is looking for his new forever home.

Rocko is a calm, affectionate adult male Doberman who has spent his life as a beloved companion. His owner loves him deeply, but due to changes in his life he can no longer care for Rocko.

Our evaluator described Rocko as a “calm, easy adult male dobie” who was relaxed, social, and gentle throughout his evaluation. He greeted new people easily, accepted handling without issue, took treats gently, and quickly settled into quietly hanging out beside everyone like he had known them forever.

Rocko enjoys going to the park, daily walks, lounging in the sun, and simply being near his people. He has lived as an only dog, but has successfully interacted with other dogs and reportedly has a regular canine playmate he enjoys seeing at the park. During his evaluation, he calmly walked away from a smaller dog that was trying to engage him in play.

He is fully housebroken, non-destructive in the home, and used to having free roam of the house. He loves couches, companionship, and being part of everyday life.
Rocko would likely do best in a home looking for a mature Doberman companion rather than a nonstop high-drive dog. He has done well with respectful children, but due to his size and strength, any children in the home should be comfortable around large dogs. He has not lived with cats, and a cat-free home is preferred as he chases strays .He still enjoys activity and walks, but overall appears to have a nice “off switch” in the home. He can pull on leash at times and may become anxious at the vet, but he was described as an easygoing, loving dog who just wants to be close to his people. Rocko absolutely loves going places, but he can become anxious in the car and may bark or pant during rides, so his future family should be prepared to continue working on building his confidence while traveling.
