Felix is a 10-year-old dachshund with a heart of gold and so much love to give. Don't let his age fool you—this sweet senior still has plenty of pep in his step! He loves exploring the backyard, keeping up with his canine friends, and following his people wherever they go.

Felix gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has never met a stranger. He's a gentle, affectionate boy who thrives on companionship and would happily spend his days curled up beside you. In fact, his favorite place is wherever you are!

Felix has overcome a lot in his life. He has an old jaw injury that healed improperly, which means he needs to eat pureed food only. Thankfully, he's not a picky eater and has an excellent appetite. His special diet is easy to manage, and he never lets it slow him down.

Since coming into foster care, Felix has been learning that he is safe and loved. He does experience some separation anxiety and prefers to stay close to his people. With patience, consistency, and reassurance, he's already making progress and learning that his family will always come back for him.

Felix is house-trained, non-destructive, and happiest in a home that understands he's still decompressing from a difficult past. He is not a fan of the crate, so a family willing to work with his comfort level and continue building his confidence would be ideal.

Felix is looking for a low-key to moderately active family who will give him the patience, grace, and love he deserves. In return, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the joy that only a resilient little dog like Felix can bring.
