Meet Mikey!

Mikey is an 8-month-old Coton de Tulear weighing 12 pounds. This sweet young pup can be a little shy at first, but he is friendly and enjoys spending time with those he trusts. As he continues to gain confidence, his playful personality really begins to shine.

Mikey loves being around other dogs and is happiest when he has canine friends to play with. Whether he's chasing other pups around the yard, engaging in playful antics, or simply relaxing in the sunshine, Mikey enjoys the company of other dogs. Because he looks to other dogs for guidance and reassurance, he may do best in a home with a confident resident dog who can help him continue building confidence and learning about the world.

Mikey also has a fenced yard requirement. A secure fenced yard will provide him with a safe space to play, explore, and enjoy his favorite outdoor activities.

We require an in-person meet and greet at our shelter location to help ensure that Mikey is a great fit for his future family and that his future family is a great fit for him.

Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
