- Takes time to warm up, but once you're in her inner circle she loves full body scratches and pets
- Loves to take nice lazy sniff walks
- Enjoys training sessions here at the shelter and would love to continue learning in her home
- Would do best in a home with adults only
- Has been introduced to other dogs while in the shelter and done well with polite calmer dogs
- We don't know her history with cats
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
ABOUT: CHOW CHOW DOG BREED
The Chow Chow, a distinctive breed known for its lion like mane and unique blue black tongue, originated in China over 2,000 years ago. These aloof yet loyal dogs are known for their independent nature, dignified demeanor, and protective instincts. Chow Chows require early socialization and training to thrive in a family setting, as they can be stubborn and territorial. With a dense double coat that requires regular grooming and a history as ancient guardians and hunting companions, the Chow Chow remains a fascinating and enigmatic breed in the canine world.
