DESCRIPTION
Hi, I'm Carmel, a six month old chocolate Lab mix with soft brown eyes, white-tipped toes, and a heart that's just waiting to belong to someone. I can be a little shy when I first meet you, but it doesn't take long before my sweet side shines through. Once I know I'm safe, I lean right in for attention, because being close to my people feels pretty wonderful.
I'm a spayed girl, about 35 pounds, and I seem to do well with the dogs here. I especially adore Cricket, which should tell you I have a gentle way about me. I also went to the vet this morning and was such a good girl that they called me a model patient. I'm healthy, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, treated for parasites, and more than ready to leave my stray days behind.
What I really want now is a family that will give me a little patience at first, then watch me blossom into the loving companion I'm meant to be. I have that lovely mix of tender and affectionate that makes every small moment feel special. If you're looking for a young dog to grow with, cheer for, and love for years to come, I hope you'll come meet me.
Carmel's adoption fee is $350. You can learn more about Carmel and other dogs at Happy Bark by visiting www.happybark.org

ABOUT: CHOCOLATE LABRADOR RETRIEVER DOG BREED
The chocolate Labrador Retriever is a beloved and popular breed known for its friendly demeanor, intelligence, and loyalty. These medium to large sized dogs have a strong build, a sleek chocolate coat, and expressive eyes. They excel in various roles such as hunting, service work, therapy, and as loving family pets. Chocolate Labs are energetic and playful, requiring regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive. Their affectionate nature and willingness to please make them wonderful companions for both individuals and families alike.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
