Checo's story could have ended very differently. He was surrendered to a veterinary clinic after being brought in with a headband wrapped so tightly around his head that it had become embedded in his skin. Thanks to the care he received and plenty of love along the way, Checo has made a full recovery and is now healthy, happy, and ready to find a family to care for him the way he deserves.
This little guy is truly the total package. Checo is house trained, crate trained, and has excellent manners in the home. He gets along wonderfully with respectful dogs of all sizes and enjoys being part of the action without ever straying too far from his people. Outside, he stays close, comes when called, and is always ready for a tiny adventure.
When he's not exploring, Checo can usually be found soaking up the sunshine, snuggled into a cozy blanket, or curled up in a soft bed. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves them with his whole heart.
After everything he's been through, Checo is ready for a family that will cherish him forever. In return, he'll give them unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and plenty of smiles along the way.
Checo is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and able to head home with a family on or after 6/13/2026.
