Meet beautiful Gabby. This girl has a loving, gentle spirit and will make a wonderful family member.
Gabby was surrendered to the Graham Texas Animal Shelter due to her previous owner having more dogs than they could manage. Mazie’s Mission partnered with the Graham Animal Shelter to pull a few of these Chihuahuas from the shelter, completed their vet work, and then placed them in safe foster homes. Gabby is one of the dogs surrendered that day. Gabby has completed her vet work and is now ready to be adopted into a forever home where she can thrive and live her best life! Mazie’s Mission is happy to help Gabby on her journey.
Gabby is the sweetest little girl. She has a gentle soul, and was a bit shy when she arrived in her foster home. For the first week, Gabby watched the family routines from her soft dog bed. It was as if she was trying to understand where she fit in. As she has settled in, her personality has begun to come out more and more. And we are falling in love with this sweetheart!
Gabby gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home. She is playful with the other small dogs and enjoys interacting with them. Gabby enjoys hanging around and enjoys the other dogs’s company. We are impressed with how easily she has fit in. She also enjoys time alone each day as she relaxes in her soft dog bed and watches the day unfold around her. Gabby is not a fan of cats, so we recommend no cats in her forever home. Gabby enjoys playing with toys. Her favorite is her lambie toy! Gabby also loves the sun and enjoys exploring the yard.
Gabby is a bit shy when she meets new people. She has enjoyed getting to know her foster Mom and Dad – Gabby loves them! Once Gabby gets to know you she is loving, devoted and affectionate. She loves attention and affection. Gabby definitely acts younger than she is! She will get into your chair and lay with you, receiving cuddles and love, and will even give you kisses. One endearing thing about Gabby, she loves you so much that she will follow you from room to room. But often she is quiet and stealth about it. More than once, we have looked around wondering where Gabby is, only to realize we shut her behind in the laundry room etc. We love that she is still an explorer, exploring other areas of the house! Gabby gets so excited when her humans come home that she meets you at the door and spins in circles. She also “hugs” you with her paws when you pick her up.
Gabby is smart. Gabby has done well with her potty habits when kept on a schedule. She has learned to use the doggy door (we do supervise for safety). At night, she enjoys sleeping in the bed with her family. Gabby is afraid of a harness and a leash, so it is best if she could live in a home with a secure fenced in backyard.
Our vet estimates that Gabby is about 8 years old. Energy wise, she acts like she is about 4 years old. She weighs 9 pounds, which is a great weight for her. Gabby has a soft coat. It is black with white highlights. Gabby also has amazing ears and soft eyes.
Gabby is just the sweetest girl. Her ideal home would be one that was laid back with moderate activity. She would do well with another dog, or would be fine as an only dog (as long as her family was around alot to love her). She enjoys soft doggie beds and relaxing moments at home. There are no children in her foster home, but we think she would be fine with older, mature children (10 and older).
