Meet Lil Dude!

Lil Dude is a 2 year old Chihuahua mix weighing just 8 pounds, and while he may be small in size, his love for his people is absolutely enormous. Once this little guy bonds with you, he forms a deep, loyal connection and wants nothing more than to be by your side. Sadly, Lil Dude was surrendered by his previous owner when they could no longer care for him, and now hes searching for a forever family that will cherish him for the rest of his life.

Like many Chihuahuas, Lil Dude can be a bit shy when meeting new people and prefers to get to know you on his own terms. He can become nervous if someone reaches for him while hes being held, and when hes feeling very stressed, he may be a little snappy. The good news is that he is highly food motivated, and a few tasty treats, gentle patience, and plenty of baby talk go a long way toward winning him over. Once you earn his trust, youll have a devoted little shadow who thinks youre the greatest thing in the world.

Lil Dude previously lived in a home with multiple dogs and did well. While we cant officially say how he feels about cats, he has mostly ignored the clinic cats at the veterinary office. He enjoys spending time outside, loves going for walks, and is doing very well learning leash manners. He is crate trained and is continuing to make progress with potty training in his foster home.

Lil Dude would thrive in a quieter, lower-traffic home with adults or older, dog-savvy children who understand the importance of giving him time to settle in and build trust. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will receive his health certificate prior to adoption.
