Tammy is a young, sweet, and playful girl with lots of energy and an even bigger heart. She loves chasing a ball just as much as she loves curling up to snuggle with her person.
Like many young pups, Tammy is still working on a few puppy behaviors—she may mouth, jump up, or occasionally chew (so far it’s been plants, a few shoes, and her toys). She also enjoys keeping an eye on the world and will happily sit by the window to bark at whatever passes by. The good news? She’s already house-trained and sleeps through the night like a champ!
Tammy gets along great with other dogs and would love a playful doggy friend in her home. She hasn’t been around cats, and while she is friendly with people once introduced, she may bark at unfamiliar visitors at first until she realizes they’re safe.
She walks nicely on a leash and is very treat-motivated—she’ll happily come when called if there’s a reward involved! Her absolute favorite toy is a ball, and she’ll chase it, bring it back (most of the time!), and even entertain herself with it.
Tammy loves attention and would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of playtime and affection. She would also do best in a home without anyone who has balance concerns, as she can get a little underfoot when excited.
A few important things to know:
Tammy is a bit of an escape artist. She is a
door dasher
and will bolt out of open doors quickly, so extra care is a must.
Because of this, Tammy would do best in a home with
no young children
, as open doors can happen quickly.
She can also squeeze through small openings under fences, so a secure yard is very important.
She should always be safely contained (behind a gate, in another room, or held) when doors to the outside are being opened.
Tammy may be a little quiet and reserved at first, but once she settles in, her loving, fun personality truly shines. With a little patience and the right home, she’s going to be an incredibly loyal and joyful companion.
