DESCRIPTION

If Disney ever decided to make a tiny princess dog, we're pretty sure she'd look exactly like Velvet Angel. Between her feathered ears, her dainty little face, and the way she prances around like she knows she's adorable, this girl looks more like a living doll than a real dog. The crazy part is that her personality is somehow even sweeter than her looks. Velvet is one of those dogs that makes people instantly go, "Oh my gosh, she's precious."

Watch her video and prepare to fall completely in love with this little princess: https://youtu.be/59qVKziesgY?si=DcdNiKFsxOj_fLNm

Velvet Angel is approximately 5 years old, weighs around 10 lbs, and we believe she may be a Chihuahua/Papillon mix. With rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. Whatever her genetic makeup is, it's the perfect blend of all the right things because this little girl is absolutely adorable.

One of the first things you'll notice about Velvet is just how sweet and gentle she is. She has a soft, innocent nature about her that makes it impossible not to adore her. She's not demanding, she's not chaotic, and she doesn't need to be the center of attention. She's simply happiest being near her people. If you're sitting down, she'd love to join you. If you're relaxing on the couch, she'd be thrilled to curl up beside you. If there's a lap available, even better.

Velvet is currently fostered with multiple dogs ranging in size from around 12 lbs all the way up to 60 lbs and does wonderfully with everyone. She's a little princess with dogs of all sizes. While she isn't particularly interested in playing with them, she's happy to coexist, share space, and enjoy their company. She doesn't create drama and doesn't need to be the boss. Her happy place is with her people, but she's perfectly content living alongside canine friends.

She also had the opportunity to meet our house cat, Biggie, and did beautifully. She was respectful, appropriate, and completely unbothered by all the typical cat behavior. She didn't chase him, didn't pester him, and Biggie seemed comfortable around her as well. We don't know whether Velvet has lived with cats before, but based on what we've seen, we're very encouraged. If you have a cat and would like additional testing, we can arrange a kitty sleepover upon request.

Velvet has also spent time around children ranging from 8 months old to 5 years old and remained her usual sweet, gentle self. She was happy to be included, happy to receive affection, and handled all of the interaction beautifully. She has such a soft demeanor that it's easy to see why people fall for her so quickly.

When it comes to training, Velvet is about as easy as they come. She is crate trained, but honestly, she has earned a lot of trust in her foster home. Her foster dad regularly leaves her unattended and she simply trots into his bedroom, hops onto the bed, and patiently waits for him to come home. No destruction. No mischief. No redecorating the house. Just a tiny princess waiting for her favorite person to return.

Velvet has mastered using pee pads and is doing well with her potty training overall. Like many little dogs, she does best with frequent potty breaks and a consistent routine. She has continued to make great progress and settles into structure very nicely. As for toys, she'll play with them every now and then, but don't expect a toy-crazed dog. Velvet would much rather spend her time being your little shadow. She isn't looking for endless entertainment. She's looking for companionship.

One of our favorite things about Velvet is how adaptable she is. We can easily see her thriving in an apartment, condo, townhouse, or traditional home with a backyard. It truly doesn't take much to make this girl happy. Give her a soft place to nap, a lap to curl up in, and someone to love, and she'll think she's won the lottery. If you're looking for a tiny dog with a giant heart, a sweet and gentle personality, and enough charm to melt just about anyone she meets, Velvet might just be your perfect match

We are willing to test Velvet Angel with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
