Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Covington, Washington

Jimbo is a handsome 2-year-old male Chihuahua mix, about 20 pounds. He came into rescue after being found stray in the city of Tieton, taken in by the Public Works Department. They do not have animal control, so they reached out to us to help him find his way his forever family.
Jimbo is very resilent and while shy at first, he's quickly becomes quite friendly, and very playful and interactive when he gets to know you. He is more of a people dog than a dog's dog and will get very attached to "his" person very quickly. That can sometimes manifests itself as resource guarding so he would do best in an adult only home, as an only dog or with a very dog pack savvy human with indifferent dog pack members. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit.

Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
