Meet Kip - the fun-loving, adventure-ready sidekick you didn't know you were missing!
Formerly known as Fiesta, Kip is an incredibly friendly, social, and playful young cattle dog/heeler mix who's looking for his true forever landing spot. We're currently assisting his owner with finding the right long-term home for this very special boy, and we'd love your help spreading the word. Kip is the kind of dog who brings energy, joy, and personality wherever he goes. He absolutely loves being around people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and thrives when he gets to be included in daily life and adventures. Whether it's hiking trails, exploring the outdoors, playing fetch, running around the yard, or simply tagging along with his favorite person, Kip is happiest when he's part of the action. Like many intelligent working and herding breeds, Kip is not the type of dog who will be happiest sitting around alone for long hours every day. He's active, smart, eager to engage, and truly thrives with regular exercise, structure, mental stimulation, and companionship. Because of this, we think he'd do best in a home where someone is around more often than not, ideally with a large fenced yard, property, active lifestyle, or someone looking for a loyal adventure buddy and constant companion. Kip can experience some separation anxiety, which isn't uncommon for dogs who bond deeply with their people and crave connection and engagement. He's a dog who genuinely wants to be involved in life with you, not just left behind while the world happens around him.
From his current owner:
He is potty trained.
He is crate trained. I feed him in his crate.
He dashes for it at mealtime!
He knows "sit" "wait" "off" "kennel" "load up" "come or here"
Great in the car.
His recall is 99.% unless he's after a SQ.
He does very well with people and other dogs overall, though he can sometimes get a little enthusiastic and rough-and-rowdy during play. Because of that, we think a home without young children - or one with older, active, dog-savvy kids - would probably be the best fit for him. Kip is truly such a delight of a dog: affectionate, goofy, athletic, intelligent, and full of life. He's going to make an amazing companion for the right person or family willing to embrace all the fun, energy, and loyalty that come with a young cattle dog mix.
Please help us share Kip's story and find this awesome boy the forever home he deserves.
