Meet Cheesy!
Personality & Story:
Cheesy is a resilient girl who was rescued from a Texas shelter and is now getting a fresh start. She’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and loves being around her people. Cheesy is a total cuddle bug who thrives on human connection and is happiest when she’s included in daily life.
She has been working hard in her foster home on training and behaviour, using food-based positive reinforcement—and it’s paying off. Cheesy is eager to learn and shows progress every single day.
Good With:
• Dogs: Yes—with proper introductions; enjoys playing and has joined small group walks successfully
• Cats: Not recommended / unknown
• Kids: Likely older, dog-savvy kids due to mouthiness
• Small Dogs: Not recommended
Training & Home Life:
Cheesy is house trained, crate trained, and already knows her basic commands. She’s a bright dog who enjoys learning and benefits from continued structure and consistency.
She does experience some leash reactivity and can become excited or frustrated when she sees other dogs while on leash. However, with proper guidance and introductions, she has shown she can successfully socialize and walk in small groups. Ongoing training will help her continue to build confidence and improve her leash manners.
She’s also comfortable with handling like nail trims and enjoys playing with other dogs. Cheesy absolutely loves to play—but can be a bit mouthy when excited, so continued training in this area will be important.
Why You’ll Love Cheesy:
Cheesy is a loving, loyal companion who is as cuddly as she is clever. She bonds deeply with her people and is both great with women and men. With her strong foundation and eagerness to learn, she’s the perfect match for someone committed to continuing her training and helping her shine.
If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate dog who will reward your effort with endless love, Cheesy might just be your perfect match.
