Meet sweet little Dash — a 5-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a gentle heart, funny quirks, and so much love to give. Born August 8, 2021, this adorable 9-pound boy is searching for a calm, patient, loving forever home where he can feel safe, secure, and cherished.
Dash has a sweet and affectionate personality once he feels comfortable. He is friendly, loyal, and has a quirky little sense of humor that makes him incredibly endearing. He recently lost his bonded companion sister, and sadly he has not adjusted well to being alone. Because we are not in a position to adopt another dog, we feel the kindest thing we can do is help him find the perfect home with another friendly, non-aggressive small dog companion.
Dash would thrive in a home that:
Has a securely fenced yard
Includes at least one gentle small dog companion
Has owners home more often than not
Understands and respects small dogs and their sensitivities
Children are okay, but Dash prefers a calmer environment. He can be startled by loud noises or sudden movements, and while he is not a fan of car rides, he will tolerate them when needed. He does not do well with large or aggressive dogs.
Dash is:
Neutered
Up to date on vaccines (3-year vaccines not due again until February 2029)
Crate trained — his crate is his safe place and where he sleeps at night
Currently on heartworm prevention
Veterinary records are available through Meridian Treasure Valley Hospital. He will need a heartworm check and Bordetella vaccine within the next year. Proof of a veterinarian relationship/reference is preferred.
Dash will come with everything he needs to settle comfortably into his new home:
Crate
Harness and leash
Bed and blankets
Bowls
Toys
Dental chews
Remaining food
One-year supply of heartworm preventative
A rehoming fee of $300 applies to help ensure Dash finds a safe and loving forever home, though it may be negotiable for the right adopter.
