Wilbur was found scavenging through trash, doing his best to survive on his own. Despite his rough start, he's an incredibly sweet boy who truly loves people and craves attention.
He can be reactive around other dogs and cats, so he may do best as the only pet or with slow, careful introductions. Wilbur is a strong walker and will need someone who can confidently handle him on a leash.
The good news: he's very food-motivated, which makes training a great opportunity-he already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more.

Wilbur is neutered, DHPP and Bordetella vaccinated, microchipped, and has started dewormer. Wilbur did test heartworm positive and has started the slow-kill method of treatment. He'll need to be kept on an ivermectin based prevention until he can be retested in a year.
