Elina - Boxer Dog for Adoption in Middlesex, New Jersey

Meet Elina!

Elina is another one of the sweet souls from The Freed Thirteen, and she is as beautiful as she is gentle. This petite girl loves affection and has already shown us what a friendly, loving personality she has despite everything she has been through.

At just 4 1/2 years old, Elina has likely spent much of her life having litter after litter. In fact, we know her most recent litter was only about eight months ago because one of her puppies from that litter is also now safe in our care.

While all of these dogs have suffered from years of neglect, the females generally arrived in better condition than the males. Even so, Elina has her own medical needs that must be addressed. She recently underwent surgery to repair a painful cherry eye, which you can see in her arrival photos as she steps off the transport truck wearing a cone. Like many of the dogs, she was understandably nervous and unsure of her surroundings, hesitant to even approach the gate.
Elina still has a journey ahead of her. Once we find her a foster home, she will need dental work to help address years of inadequate care. Like the rest of The Freed Thirteen, she arrived at the shelter dirty, underweight, with overgrown nails and a strong odor that reflected the conditions she had been living in.
But none of that defines Elina.

What defines her is the sweet, affectionate girl who is finally getting the chance to experience kindness, comfort, and love. Now she just needs a foster or forever family to help her continue that journey.
