Hi friends… it’s me, Anakin.
I’m a sweet black lab boy just trying to figure out why my world changed. I’ll be honest… I’m still a little timid right now. The shelter can be loud and confusing, and sometimes I just sit back and take it all in. But if you look closely… you’ll see it — my playful side is starting to peek through. Little tail wags, curious eyes, and those moments where I just want to be close to my people.
And once I know I’m safe? Oh… I’m going to shine.

From what we’ve learned about Anakin, he’s the kind of dog that wants to be your dog. Your shadow. Your best friend. The one who lays at your feet, follows you room to room, and just loves being near you. He’s got that loyal, loving lab heart — he just needs a home where he can finally relax and be it.
Right now, this environment just isn’t where he can show his full self. It’s stressful, it’s overwhelming… and we know there is so much more to this sweet boy than what you see in a kennel.
He doesn’t belong here.
He belongs in a home.
We’re looking for a patient, loving family who will give him a little time to decompress and build trust. In return… you’re going to get one of the sweetest, most devoted companions.
Let’s not let this boy fade into the background. Black dogs get overlooked far too often, and Anakin deserves his chance just as much as anyone else.
