Hi friends!

I’m Mara, a 2-year-old girl with the sweetest, gentlest heart and a gorgeous soft black coat. I’m a calm and easygoing girl, and you can tell I’m just so happy to be with my people! I love trotting along in the backyard and soaking up the sunny days!

I’m well mannered in the house and adjust well to daily routine. I love spending time in my dog bed for a good nap in the sun, or resting by your side to get extra pets. I do love to charm you with my sweet eyes and smile!

I love getting a special treat and I’m learning to patiently wait for my food. I might do a little happy wiggle and bounce when it’s mealtime because I’m just so excited. I’m enjoying my food which is helping me add on more weight as well as it’s recommended I gain more. I’m already learning to take treats gently and wait politely. I’m eager to please and love to learn, so with a bit of guidance, I know I’ll keep improving!

I’m a total cuddle bug at heart. I love being close to my people-burying my head in your lap, soaking up ear rubs, and rolling over right away for belly and chest rubs. Snuggles are definitely one of my favorite things.

I’m also a pretty confident and relaxed girl. Loud noises, like traffic, don’t bother me. On walks, my foster has said I’m a dream on leash. I really enjoy taking my time to sniff and explore the world around me. My foster said my recall to “come here!” Is really good and I can’t wait to show off more skills. I’m a good listener and love being connected with my person.

Overall, I’m a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing girl who can’t wait to share more love with you. I’m ready to find a family who will continue to guide me, celebrate my progress, and enjoy all the sweetness I have to give.
