Bella came into rescue because her owners did not feel like they were able to meet her needs. Bella's family had moved into a rented single wide trailer with no room for Bella to run. They also stated that the landlord did not want Bella there. It had become too much for the family so they asked us to try to find Bella a home that was better suited for her. Bella is a great dog and is well mannered. She is not your typical maligator and is pretty chill compared to many of this breed. Bella did live with a young child and a chihuahua and has done well with the dogs and kids at our home. We are unsure about cats. I believe she may have lived with one at one time but it had been awhile so we probably would err on the side of caution and say no cats. Bella walks on a leash well and rides great! She loads right up. Bella is crate trained and, most likely, fully housebroken although we never guarantee this. She has not pottied in our house though so chances are good you won't have any issues with housetraining. Bella does NOT like bicycles. She will attack the tires and jump but otherwise we haven't seen any behavioral issues. She seems to enjoy water so trips to the beach with her would be fun. Please keep in mind that although Bella is a more chilled our malinois, she still requires a good deal of exercise and keeping her brain stimulated. This breed is not the best for novice owners or for apartment dwellers. A fenced yard where she can run and play is ideal but if you are an active person who would provide a lot of outside and exercise options, she would do well in that situation also. Bella is a sweet girl and will make a wonderful family companion.
Bella saw the vet on 6/1/26 and was found to have no issues on her exam. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She did test positive for whipworms on her fecal so we have dewormed her with Drontal. Vet recommended she be given Trifexis once a month as well to treat the whipworms so we will start her on that next month since we had already given her a Simparica. Bella weighed 59 pounds as of 6/1/26.
If interested in giving Bella her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Bella's adoption fee will be $300 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Bella based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
