My name is Cerberus, and yea you guessed it I was born at Ridgeland. My bio is of course going to be very long so sit back; relax and get to know me.
I haven't had a normal start to my life as some of you may know, but I am starting to learn all about life on the outside.
First about me. They estimate my age to be between 8 months and 15 months old, I have this little tick about me. You see if I am not cuddling you I like to do circles. These started out small and now its around objects in the room that I am in. It's something that I probably have been doing since I can remember so I may or may not be able to be stopped of. It doesn't really harm anything its just my nervous habit right now.
Since I didnt get any training as a puppy I am very raw in that department, and as I learn what I like I also don't know the manners not associated with waiting patiently to get it. So if you are eating a sandwich, cheese, or something else nommy I will crawl on top of you to get it (but let's be honest here I am also a beagle so this just heightened that instinct). I am not potty trained. While I am doing very well (mostly overnight accidents as long as you are paying attention) I still have days where I feel too spooked in my own skin and will have more accidents and be more shut down than a normal day. All of this is something that may or may not get better as I live in a home, and my foster mom just wants to make sure that anyone interested understands that. You may ask what I am good at so far. Well I have finally learned how to get on the couch; and with that is snuggles (which I am the best at if I may say so) I still don't know that I am not a lap dog, or the cues if when you need to get up but I will snuggle you all day if you let me.
I do have separation anxiety, and you may ask why is this in the good column? Because my foster mom has learned how to calm me in this. You see one thing she says is a must is another doggo in the house and the reason for this is that is what keeps me calm while you are gone ( and podcasts or audio books, please no music not a fan). My foster mom has not crated me knowing my past, instead I have a whole room that I get baby gated into when she leaves with another house doggo with a book playing and with that I do fantastic. She does have a crate in the room and keeps it open but at this time is giving me the choice of if I want to be in it or not.
For my ideal backyard. While a fence would be nice. I am only on a long lead at my fosters house (for the first week we do recommend either a outside pen or double/triple leash until he starts to bond with you) I would prefer if I am on a long lead that there are not many objects for me to get stuck on as I am still learning the back it up and go around command.
My foster mom is looking for the best possible landing space for me and again requires another dog in the house. Extra points added for cats as I love them as well. I have been curious about kids, but have yet to willingly go up to any, but they would need to be very aware of how slow to go with me.
