Nora was part of a litter discovered in the woods. At first, she was very nervous and timid in her foster home, but as her trust in her foster family grew, she gradually became more confident. She asks her foster mom for cuddles and scratches behind the ears, and she loves belly rubs. However, she’s still sensitive to any sudden movements or sounds.
Nora is very much a one-person dog. She follows her foster mom everywhere, and when she’s working, she’s right there with her. She’s still somewhat cautious around her foster dad, but she’s learned to enjoy sitting in his lap when watching TV, and she also likes to snuggle between her foster parents in the big bed.
Unlike a typical beagle, Nora picks at her food and grazes instead of wolfing it down. She’s learning how to play and has a few toys that she enjoys – a miniature Lamb Chop and a crinkly unstuffy that she will chew on. She’s housetrained, but because she hasn’t completely learned to signal when she needs to go out, she’ll occasionally have an accident.
To help Nora build even more confidence, we started fostering Colonel Sanders, aka Sanders. However, it soon became apparent that Nora was the more confident dog!
Nora has come so far during the short time that she’s been with her foster family, and it’s been a joy to see. Nora is looking for a home that will help her continue to build her confidence with patience and understanding so she can blossom even further. In return, she promises to be your loyal, loving companion.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
