Ruby is a 3-year-old medium sized dog currently being cared for in foster care through Da Vinci's Dream, a foster-based nonprofit dog rescue in Kentucky.

Ruby is an Australian Shepherd mix born around April 1, 2023, and she's ready to find her forever home!

This beautiful girl has an independent spirit and enjoys having the freedom to explore and do her own thing, but she's also friendly and social with other dogs.

Ruby would do well with a family that appreciates her confident personality and gives her opportunities for both adventure and relaxation.

Whether she's hanging out with her canine pals or investigating the world around her, Ruby is sure to bring plenty of joy to the lucky people who welcome her home

HEALTH & VETERINARY CARE

All of our rescue dogs receive medical care before adoption and are placed only after they are ready for a home.

Each dog is:

~Spayed or neutered (if age appropriate)
~Fully vaccinated
~Microchipped
~Heartworm tested
~Maintained on heartworm prevention
~Treated for fleas and ticks
~Dewormed as needed

Adopters can feel confident knowing their new companion has received essential care through our foster-based rescue program.

HOW TO APPLY TO ADOPT

If you are interested in adopting, please understand that clicking “I’m Interested” or submitting an inquiry through Petfinder is not an adoption application.

To be considered:

Submit an adoption application through our website
Our volunteer team reviews all applications carefully
Dogs are matched based on best fit, not first-come, first-served

Because we are a volunteer-run nonprofit rescue, application review can take up to 10 days, and sometimes longer depending on volume.

If you do not hear from us after that time, it means we have chosen not to move forward with your application.

ABOUT OUR FOSTER-BASED RESCUE

We are a foster-based nonprofit dog rescue located in Kentucky. Our dogs live in foster homes rather than in a public shelter setting, which helps us better understand their personalities, routines, and needs before adoption.

This allows us to make thoughtful placement decisions that support long-term success for both the dog and adopter.

TRANSPORT INFORMATION

Although our dogs are fostered in Kentucky, we also offer transport for approved adopters in select locations.

Current transport locations:

~Greenwood, Indiana
~Wilmington, Ohio
~Washington, Pennsylvania

Transport is available only after:

Application approval
Deposit payment
Signed transport agreement

A transport label means the dog may travel through our scheduled transport program once these steps are completed.

~Is this dog still available?

If the dog is listed and does not show adoption pending on our website, we are still accepting applications.

Please note that many dogs receive multiple applications.

~Is the dog potty trained?

Unless specifically stated in the dog’s bio, assume potty training is still in progress.

Many rescue dogs come from difficult backgrounds and may need patience, consistency, and training in their new home.

~Do you respond to every application?

We review every application carefully, but due to the volume we receive, we cannot respond individually to every applicant.
