Drake is a truly special dog and a rare find in rescue. He combines intelligence, loyalty, and a gentle nature into one handsome package.
This boy was found as a stray with a momma dog and her puppies (maybe he was the daddee?)
Drake is an affectionate, easygoing boy who is happiest when he's close to his people. A true "velcro dog," he loves being indoors and will gladly follow his favorite humans from room to room, always wanting to be part of the family.
He is very sweet and gentle with the older children in his foster home, though he can become a bit overwhelmed in loud or chaotic environments.
Drake also gets along well with other dogs. While he has never lived with a cat, he does not appear to have a strong prey drive and was completely unbothered by the clinic cats during a week-long stay at a veterinary boarding facility.
While he forms deep bonds with those he trusts, Drake can be cautious in new situations and may become overly submissive when frightened.
Because of his sensitive nature, Drake will need a patient, understanding home that will allow him to build confidence at his own pace.
Drake truly thrives with positive reinforcement training and will do best with adopters who appreciate the needs of a highly intelligent breed and can provide both mental and physical enrichment to keep him engaged.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will be your shadow, your best friend, and your biggest fan, Drake may be the perfect match. With a little patience and a lot of love, this beautiful boy will reward his family with unwavering devotion.
