Genie is a 9-year-old, 60 lb Heeler mix looking for a special home that appreciates smart, quirky, loyal dogs.

This girl is full of personality and incredibly intelligent — she knows an impressive number of commands including sit, stay, lay down, shake, roll over, and more. She loves engaging with her person and would make an amazing companion for someone who enjoys a clever, interactive dog.

Genie loves long walks, outdoor adventures, rolling in the grass, squeaky toys, sticks, and cozy snuggles. She’s also a big fan of treats and “cheese runs” to Buc-ee’s. Despite her active side, she’s a total cuddle bug who always wants to be close to her person.

She would thrive in an adult-only home as the only dog, though she may coexist with a calm cat. She is not a fit for homes with children or small animals.

Genie can be sensitive and likes her boundaries respected, so she needs a patient, confident adopter who understands independent dogs and will let her settle in at her own pace. In return, she forms a deep bond and is incredibly loyal.
