Duke is a 2.5 year old 75 pound baby. He is neutered and potty trained. He is super sweet and loving. He will go from being the absolute best couch potato and cuddle bug to running and playing fetch til either you or him can't do it anymore. I have 5 year old triplet girls who he is wonderful around. He does jump when he gets excited but has shown to be very teachable so that can be easily corrected. I also have an 11 yo female pitbull who is very dominant. He immediately submitted to her upon meeting her. They play very well together until she gets tired and annoyed by his energy lol. I have had many dogs over the years and he is definitely an amazing dog. I would keep him in a heartbeat if I could, however, with triplets, one dog is already enough for me. He deserves the world and for someone to give him all the love and attention they can.
He was dumped in my neighborhood so I took him to get scanned and he did have an owner. After very little and inconsistent contact with the owner, he said he no longer wanted Duke. I called Gaston County Animal Control and they said that after 60 days they begin the process of euthanization. Duke does not deserve that and I wanted to do everything in my power to avoid that. Since then, I have been desperately contacting rescues, posting on social media over and over, putting up a flier at my vets office, and many other things, with no luck. I have recently moved and cannot take him with me so I can no longer "foster" him. My old house is still under my ownership so I am going over twice a day to make sure he has food and water. Next Thursday, June 4th, I will be listing my old house for sale. I cannot show the house with Duke there. So I need him placed somewhere by then.
