DESCRIPTION

Hi, I’m Jericho — a 3‑year‑old, 54‑pound tan pit bull with a big heart, a love for adventure, and a whole lot of potential. I’ve come a long way thanks to a dedicated foster and a 4‑week board‑and‑train program, and I’m finally ready to find the right home — one that understands me, respects my needs, and will continue the training that has helped me grow so much.

I’m neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, crate trained, and I’m a quiet boy — I hardly ever bark. I love hikes, walks, exercise, puzzle toys, and anything that challenges my brain. I’m also a power chewer, so sturdy toys like Nylabones are a must for me.

I’ve made huge progress with my training. I used to be scared of men, but with consistent work, I’ve overcome that fear. I’ve also been cat tested, and while I wasn’t aggressive, I was way too curious — so a home without cats is best. I was not raised around children, and small children scare me. Because of that, I cannot go to a home with babies or toddlers. Children 9 and up who are dog‑savvy and respectful are okay.

I’m not a dog for a first‑time dog owner. I need someone experienced — someone who understands structure, boundaries, and follow‑through. When I don’t have those things, I can revert to pushy, bratty behaviors like jumping up, nipping, trying to push people over, and ignoring door manners. With structure, I’m wonderful. Without it, I struggle. That’s why my foster and trainer want my new family to come meet me, learn my training, and understand how to keep me on the right path.

I get along with other dogs, but I do best with slow introductions and a confident handler. I’m affectionate, loyal, adventurous, and incredibly smart — I just need the right person who will continue the work that has helped me become the dog I am today.

My foster is committed to my success. I’m currently in Waterloo, SC, but I can be transported to the right home. A transport fee may apply.

If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, active, quiet companion who’s ready for adventure and eager to keep learning, I might be the perfect match for you. I just need someone who understands me — and if that’s you, I can’t wait to meet you.
