DESCRIPTION

Otto is a handsome 2-1/2 year old male kitty who was brought to HSOV on March 8, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him in Marietta Ohio. Otto appeared to have fallen on bad times and was doing his best to survive outdoors near a high-traffic city street.

Thanks to the excellent care of our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs, Otto began to thrive with plenty of good food, fresh water, antibiotics, soft/warm blankets, and daily TLC. When these updated photos were taken in mid-May 2026, Otto was looking like a wanna-be model/spokesman for Purina cat food commercials (smile).

Otto has an orange tabby shorthaired coat, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful chubby face with pale green/amber-colored eyes, a pink nose, a dusting of white on his muzzle, and long white whiskers.

Otto was given vaccines on March 17, 2026 and weighed just 6 lbs that day. He has been given a regimen of Drontal dewormer.

Otto was combo tested on March 23, 2026 and was negative for feline leukemia and heartworm but tested positive for FIV [Feline Immunodeficiency Virus].

We are listing Otto as a 'Special Needs Kitty' for that reason but we prefer to think of him as merely very special for so many other reasons. A vigilant pet owner who treats secondary infections can assist an FIV+ cat to live a reasonably long life. The chances that an FIV-infected cat will pass the virus to other cats within a household are slim to none if no serious fighting or biting occurs ... And Otto is certainly a lover and not a fighter.

Otto gets along well with other cats, and he loves his people friends (including children).

Otto was neutered on May 19, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 8 lbs that day.
