Meet Asparagus “Gus” (Please read his entire bio!)

Asparagus, better known as Gus, is a handsome brown tabby boy with striking stripes, soulful green eyes, and a personality as big as his adorable cheeks! We believe this sweet guy is around 3 years old.

Gus can be a little shy when settling into a new environment, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines. He becomes confident, affectionate, and wonderfully outgoing. One of his favorite ways to show love is by rubbing against you and giving enthusiastic headbutts for attention — and trust us, he’ll make sure you know when he wants cuddles!

This chatty gentleman is also very vocal and isn’t afraid to tell you exactly when it’s mealtime. Gus absolutely loves his food and treats and will happily remind you when dinner should be served. When he’s not snacking, he enjoys burning off energy by chasing wand and stick toys like a pro athlete. After a good play session, he’s happiest plopped down beside you, relaxing and soaking up companionship.

Gus is currently learning to coexist with other cats and has been respectful of their space so far. With a slow and proper introduction, he may do well in a home with other feline friends.

Because Gus can occasionally get overstimulated — especially if he has extra energy or is feeling hungry — he may swipe during playtime. Regular interactive play helps him stay happy and calm. Due to this, we believe Gus would thrive best in an adult-only home without children.

If you’re looking for a loyal, entertaining, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Gus may be your perfect match.

You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us. We accept online/electronic credit or debit card pre-payments for adoptions (no cash).

NOTE: Please do not ask us to HOLD a cat/kitten for you. Our space is very limited as we don't have a facility.

Laurel Cats does not have a shelter or storefront. Our kittens and cats are placed in the homes of loving volunteer fosters until they are adopted. This means our cats are accustomed to being handled and loved. Please ask questions if you're interested in any of our cats
