Meet Antonio! Named for Antonio Banderas, due to his charming disposition. Antonio is about a year old, handsome, and a lovebug with a very easy-going personality! This poor sweetheart has been through a lot.

Antonio came to us when a neighbor called us very concerned. Across the street, the family that owned him did not take care of him. The boys abused him as a young kitten by throwing him in the air as though he were a ball and being cruel. When the family moved, they left this poor kitten behind to fend by himself, as though he were trash. He was just 6 months old - a kitten - and did his best to survive through the sub-freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and all that we had to endure this winter ... all alone. By now, Antonio was very sick and needed help. Another rescue wouldn't take him in, but we did. How could we leave him out there?

Once in our care, he immediately saw our vet. His once white fur, was very dirty and he had a bad upper respiratory infection. His eyes and nose were crusted over. Because he couldn't smell he wasn't eating, and to breathe in a big breath of air causes him to cough. He was dehydrated. He had a fairly deep puncture wound on his shoulder.... he looked awful, but he bowled over our vet and her staff (and anyone who has met him since!). The vet kept saying to herself as she was examining him, "I don't need another cat. I don't need another cat." Despite everything, he has been through in his young life, he is still loving and sweet and happy and grateful to be cared for and inside.

Antonio loves to be held and snuggled. He is still learning to play, and seems to love any toy with catnip and krinkly balls. He LOVES his canned food, his nice cozy bed, and a sunny window. He is the purrfect cat and would be a great companion cat or emotional support cat.

Antonio would do best in a quiet home with kids over the age of 12 years old (or younger but quiet children). He is/will be dewormed, recived an FVRCP and a booster, a rabies vaccine, combo tested, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration.
