Luna – Gentle, Loving, and Ready for His Second Chance
Luna is a sweetheart whose greatest joy is simply being close to his people. He has spent his entire life with his brother Leo and is now living in a foster home with other friendly cats and kittens. Because he truly thrives with feline companionship, Luna must have another cat in his forever home — someone to share his days with while also soaking up all the human affection he adores.
Luna and Leo were adopted as kittens seven years ago and lived with the same family until recently. Unfortunately, the home environment wasn’t ideal for them: very young children, constant noise, and fast-paced activity created overwhelming stress. The boys spent much of their time hiding in the basement, which meant limited human interaction and chronic anxiety. During this period, Luna developed diabetes, which is now well managed with twice‑daily insulin.
Leo has since been adopted, but Luna continues to be overlooked because of his medical needs. That’s a shame, because this boy is blossoming beautifully in foster care. With no children and several calm feline companions, Luna is showing just how affectionate and resilient he truly is.
He greets every visitor like a long‑lost friend — rubbing, head‑butting, and purring to show his happiness. He is gentle, docile, and trusting; his foster was even able to bathe him to help improve his coat, and he accepted it with grace. Luna is well on his way to becoming a full lap cat now that he finally feels safe.
Despite his diabetes, Luna is incredibly easy to care for. He accepts his insulin injections calmly, and he doesn’t mind the tiny ear prick needed for glucose checks. He is also working on shedding a few extra pounds through portion control and increased activity. Luna was raised on kibble, so his transition to a high‑protein, low‑carb wet diet (ideal for diabetic cats) is ongoing.
Luna enjoys the company of the other cats in his foster home and is slowly being welcomed into their group. What he wants most is a quiet, loving home with patient people and at least one friendly resident cat. He dreams of peace, stability, and a favourite human to snuggle close to every day.
If you have experience with diabetic cats — or simply the willingness to learn — and want to support a gentle, affectionate boy on his journey to a healthy, balanced life, Luna will repay you with endless head butts, purrs, and love.
We can’t help every cat, but we can change the world for one — Luna is hoping that one is him.
