DESCRIPTION
Fred was found stray, living outside. A kind neighbor put heated cat houses out for him and contacted us to help. We were not sure if Fred would be friendly, but he was, and is he ever!
Poor Fred had severe gingivostomatitis and was in chronic pain. He has since had all of his teeth extracted and has a clean bill of health from the vet.
Fred is in a TC Paw foster home, where his foster family says he hid and darted away at first until he got comfortable living in a house with people and other cats. He's out now, and though still a bit skittish, his love of being touched and petted overcomes his nervousness. You can watch the brief struggle between wanting to run away and knowing the extended hand will rub his head. The head rub always wins, and he purrs and makes biscuits with his paws right away.
Fred loves to eat. Having no teeth is not a problem. He even loves dry food. He isn't sure about being picked up or carried, but he loves to be brushed and petted and is a sweet, playful, peaceful guy who gets along with other cats. Fred's foster family welcomes home visits to meet him.
