Raye, born Feb 4th 2026 was surrendered to Mattie's Place when being sold online
He weighed in at He weighed in at 1.3 KG | 3 pounds on April 14th at his first vet appointment to get his vaccine & deworming protocols underway.
He's a healthy boy. The owner said he was some designer breed. I can't recall what they said he was. He's just a domestic short hair kitten to me.
He's a really fun boy with a big personality.
He was able to spend time at a backstage event for musician Raye (his namesake) that Mattie's Place attended and he was a perfect boy, loved to be cuddled and snuggled and was a super brave boy.
Raye will have 2 further rounds of vaccines and dewormer at the cost of Mattie's Place at our rescue veterinarian in Unionville, in June and July. He will receive his neuter, at the cost of Mattie's Place, again, at our rescue veterinarian in June.
He is in foster care with kids and does well. He is also in foster care with cats and dogs. He'd likely do best in a home without dogs as they do make him nervous. A kind & gentle cat mentor would be a benefit to him when adopted.
Raye is a fun kitten that will make an amazing feline companion.
FROM THE FOSTER:
Raye is very playful and vocal. When he first arrived, he was nervous of dogs and cats in the home and would hiss, but he's now warmed up to them. He plays with the other cat in our home.
He will hiss at dogs and/or run away from them if they bug him too much.
Raye loves to play and will do zoomies also throughout the house. He loves ball toys and toys on strings.
Ray is eating about half to 3/4 cup of the Orijen Kitten dry food and about a can of Acana canned chicken and tuna a day. He definitely prefers his wet food, so we give him the dry food first when he is most hungry.
He is litter trained.
He loves humans and wants to be near them constantly, and will follow them around the house.
When cuddling he purrs so loud.
He always wants to sleep with us at night.
