Honey - Domestic Short Hair Cat Available for Adoption in Tavares, Florida

4 year old Honey, or “Kitty” as her family called her originally came to Hoffmeyer as part of a large group of cats from an out of county crowded shelter. She came to them from a large hoarding situation where a Good Samaritan tried to help and got in over their head causing the county to step in. She was adopted in February of 2026 into a loving family with a young child. Honey has bursts of energetic zoomies where she runs, jumps, and sometimes will knock into the child, scratching or biting her. Honeys outbursts are believed to be playful but a but rough for such a little one. Her favorite toys are little mice and balls. She’s often picking things up in her mouth and bringing them to her person with her cute little meow. She enjoys naps on windows or her humans office chair. She loves food and almost always has her quirky tongue out. Honey is FIV positive but that shouldn’t stand in the way of her finding a forever home. She’s a sweet girl needing a family of adults or older kids willing to play and show her love. She has not lived with another pet since February but because of the situation she came from, we believe she would be comfortable with a kitty companion. Honey has been bounced around from the streets, to shelter, rescue, pet store, adopted then returned. She deserves to finally find her forever family to spend forever with comfortable and loved. Her $50.00 adoption donation includes her spay, all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip and she’s also on her monthly flea prevention meds.

Our animals are truly rescues and do not come with a guarantee as a breeder could provide so we do everything we possibly can to ensure the very best start to their new journey. Please understand we cannot predict the health of an animal once it leaves our facility. Breeds are based on visual inspection, information from previous owners or veterinarian observations, we do not do DNA testing! Our cats are INDOOR cats only.
