Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Sacramento, California

FLYNN

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Sacramento, California
May 5th
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

When Flynn first arrived at the shelter, he was a solid, handsome tom with a quiet, shy demeanor. At times he seemed a bit grumpy and we soon discovered why. His teeth were causing him significant discomfort! Once Flynn received much-needed dental surgery, including removal of painful teeth and a full cleaning and polish, everything changed.

Free from pain, Flynn's true personality has blossomed. He is now an outgoing, confident, and affectionate kitty who enjoys attention and companionship. He loves connecting with his people and showing off his newly found zest for life.

Flynn can occasionally get a little overstimulated, so he will do best in a cat-savvy home that understands feline boundaries and body language. With the right match, Flynn will be a loving, rewarding companion who is ready to leave his rough days behind and settle into a forever home.

Flynn is also FIV+ and must be an indoor only kitty. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a slow acting virus that affects the cat's immune system. FIV is a cat-only virus, and cannot be transmissible to humans or other species of animals. FIV is not spread casually – like in litter boxes, food and water bowls, or when snuggling and playing. FIV is spread through serious, penetrating bite wounds -- The type of bite wound that is seen most often in feral, intact tomcats -- or by blood transfusions. FIV+ cats can live in a household with other non-FIV+ cats if they are all non-aggressive. Cats that live together without fighting and are easy going in nature are at little risk for becoming infected. Cats with FIV can live very long, perfectly comfortable lives. Provide FIV+ cats with a good diet and annual veterinarian exam, and address any secondary health concerns as they arise.

**WALK IN SHELTER TO ADOPT Tuesday Noon-5pm, Wednesday 12-6pm, Thursday-Sunday Noon-5pm (Closed Mondays and Holidays). All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to bring your ID with you too!
