Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Fireball ACCT-A-251084 is a 4-year-old male that came in as a stray on 5/25. Finder noted that "he has a big stomach and super skinny (maybe bloated). He is friendly & scared." Fireball has been found to be severely dehydrated, with other abnormalities revealed in bloodwork. Despite his medical issues, he has been extremely friendly & outgoing to staff, and can't get enough affection! Please give Fireball a chance to experience even more warmth & love!



MEDICAL:



Per exam on 5/25:

"This patient was presented to triage as a stray with no microchip.

The patient is currently BAR, eating and drinking well, but is underweight. Having foul-smelling diarrhea, though an in-house panleuk test was negative. In-house blood work revealed severe dehydration and other abnormalities. Under vet's direction, we have administered SQ fluids and started medical treatments and scheduled a vet check for the wellness team for tomorrow to determine a further plan."



Per staff on 5/25:

"Body Condition Score: 3 - Thin

Mm color: Pale or white

Mm touch: Dry (tacky)

Dehydrated (8-10%)

Attitude: QAR (quiet, alert, responsive)

Mild pain

Sunken in eyes"



BEHAVIORAL:



Per staff on 5/25:

"I went to say hi to Fireball. Notably, every time I entered the supportive care room previously, he would vocalize at me for attention. When I came toward the kennel door, he continued to vocalize & came forward for pets. He stood still while I took some pictures, and then allowed me to pet him all over. He did attempt a few times to walk out of kennel, but was fine with me picking him up to move him back. Very sweet kitty!"

"Was nuzzling my hand and allowing petting of his head, ears, and chin."
