Marmalade is a 13-year-old spayed female Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful white-and-orange coat and a gentle soul. This sweet senior lady is finding shelter life a bit overwhelming and scary right now. After recently losing the owner she loved, Marmalade is understandably feeling sad and unsure about all the changes in her world.

Despite her worries, Marmalade has a kind and affectionate nature. She enjoys gentle attention and seems to take comfort in calm, patient people who allow her to settle in at her own pace. Having spent her life as an indoor cat, she would likely thrive in a quiet home where she can feel safe, loved, and secure again.

Marmalade is looking for someone willing to give her the time and understanding she needs to regain her confidence. In return, she promises sweet companionship and the special bond that only a grateful senior cat can offer.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
