When Miles came to us, he had a severe degloving injury to his chin, leaving it literally hanging like a little bib. We repaired it once. Miles immediately chose violence. We repaired it again. Miles said, “I appreciate the effort, but I’ll be making my own medical decisions. Thanks, but no thanks.”
So off to the specialist he went, where they worked their magic while Miles cycled through enough medications and recovery gear to rival a retired rockstar on a farewell tour. (Boy loves himself a good cocktail). At one point he was wearing three e-collars simultaneously, looking like a satellite dish desperately trying to contact another planet. Somehow, despite his relentless commitment to self-sabotage, everything finally healed beautifully. 🙃
All of that said, he’s been worth every second! Miles is around 11 months old, incredibly friendly, and social enough to make himself at home basically anywhere. He’s fostered with many other cats and does great with them. He came from a colony and even arrived already ear tipped (just on the wrong ear, because apparently the chaos started long before he met us. 😜)
Now that his chin has officially retired from its side quest, Miles is ready for a home of his own, preferably with humans who appreciate resilience, personality, and a cat who approaches life with the confidence of a man who has never once considered the consequences of his actions.
