When Barnabas first came to us with his brothers a few months ago, he was one of the tiny babies the shelter feared might not make it.
This little band of brothers had been labeled “failure to thrive” because they weren’t eating or taking formula on their own. While Barnabas took a little longer to figure out independent eating, once he did… he absolutely committed to the assignment. 😂 He quickly bulked up and is now the heaviest of all the brothers.
Barnabas is the curious one of the group. If there’s a strange noise, movement, or mystery happening somewhere in the house, he fully believes it is his responsibility to investigate immediately. He’s also the official neighborhood watchman and can often be found sitting by the window keeping tabs on the daily happenings — especially making sure those pesky birds know he’s watching them.
But underneath all that curiosity is an incredibly sweet and gentle boy. Barnabas loves soft blankets, warm laps, and cuddling up close to his humans. Even though he has a very healthy appetite, he’s a total gentleman at mealtime and always seems to make sure his foster siblings get their share too.
And just like his brothers, the second you pick him up, the purring starts. 🩵
