Francine loves her new life, safe indoors and free from having kittens. A young adult, she had at least two litters, the last one with nine kittens! She is cautious about people; you don’t survive the streets being too trusting. Francine loves to be petted, but has to feel safe. Once she relaxes, she leans in and wants a lot of attention. She doesn’t hide (once she’s used to a home) but if you try to come directly to her, she is likely to keep a distance until she can determine if it’s okay.
Francine loves other cats; she’ll bump heads with them and doesn’t fight. In her foster home, a few of the males have bullied and chased her but she doesn’t retaliate. She’s not aggressive with people either. She gets scared being picked up but doesn’t bite. The only risk is a scratch as she tries to get away.
Over time and in a quiet home, Francine should gain confidence and let down her guard completely. She loves the ready supply of food and treats, soft places to lie, the chance to play with toys, and looking at the world from inside a safe home. It’s unknown the interactions she’s had with young children and dogs, but given her peaceful disposition she should adapt to kindness shown her by any creatures.
Francine was born approximately August 22, 2023, and her adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.
You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com. Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
