Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Las Vegas, Nevada

Hershey came to us thanks to one of our amazing partners, Danyel, who spotted him and couldn't walk away. She reached out to see if we could take him in-and of course, we said yes. We had no idea what to expect, but it didn't take long for Hershey to win us over. He's truly one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet.
When Hershey first arrived, he was a friendly, easygoing boy with big tomcat cheeks and the softest little meow. A few days later, though, he started having vomiting and diarrhea and quickly stopped eating. We began supportive care with fluids and anti-nausea medication, but he still wasn't improving. Bloodwork revealed severe kidney issues, so we transitioned him onto a renal diet-and thankfully, he started to feel better.
Just as things were looking up, Hershey took another turn and his gastrointestinal issues returned. Repeat bloodwork showed his kidney values had improved, but something else was going on. We slowly transitioned him to a GI diet, continued supportive care, and closely monitored him. Within a few days, he turned a corner again-eating, drinking, gaining weight, and acting like himself.
What we've learned is that Hershey does best with consistency. Even small changes to his diet can upset his system, but on the right GI food, he can live a long, happy, and healthy life.
