It causes non-progressive symptoms like jerky movements, shaky, uncoordinated walking (ataxia), and wobbliness, which are often observed when a young animal or human begins to move. While the damage is permanent, it is not painful or contagious and is often managed with supportive care, allowing for a good quality of life.
