Carl - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Beaverton, Oregon

Carl is a big tabby boy with a lot of heart, named after Carl from UP because he looks old and grumpy - but he isn't! He loves food and attention, but he is on a diet. He will talk to you and purrs loudly with head bumps and biscuits and belly rubs.

Carl needs to lose about 7 lbs to be healthy. He is pending results for diabetes, liver, and kidney. He needs more work with the litter box.

Carl is best in a home with older children or supervised Littles. He is very friendly and welcomes attention from anyone but does use his mouth when overstimulated. He has not caused any scratches or bites, even when bathed, but the teeth might be problematic with little children who don't understand cat cues.
Adoption fee- $150

Please also note that adoption fees are non-negotiable and we do not offer discounts.***

We want adopters to thoughtfully consider the lifelong commitment of a pet. As a volunteer-run rescue, we cannot always process paperwork immediately after meet-and-greets. Most adoptions are finalized within 24-hours.

To help speed up the process, please email a walkthrough video of your home and a list of indoor plants/flowers to adoptioncoordinator@mariospaw.org after scheduling your meet-and-greet.

Our adoption process consists of:
- a submitted application and list of indoor plants/flowers
- in person meet-and-greet
- video walk through of the main areas of your home
- adoption link sent to your phone with our contract where you will pay the adoption fee and receive the medical records sent via email

Whats Included in the Adoption Fee:
Spayed/Neutered (Pets are not adopted without surgery)
Microchipped
FIV/FeLV tested (Felines)
Up to date on FVRCP (Feline) or DHPP (Canine) vaccines
Dewormed and flea-treated

Your adoption fee also helps cover supplies, administrative costs, and vet care for our many medical cases allowing us to rescue more animals in need of extra surgeries, specialist care, and rehabilitation.
